While a good book is a treasure, sometimes you want a story you can actually hold. This year, we’re inviting you to step into the pages of your favorite pastoral tale and meet our youngest guests from Capricious Goats.
What is a "Cuddle a Baby Lamb" Session? Think of it as a live-action library checkout! These sessions are 5 minutes of pure, uninterrupted time to hold, snuggle, and love one of our baby lambs. Whether you're a "Little Bo Peep" in training or just need some woolly stress relief, these sessions are designed for maximum heart-melting.
To ensure every "reader" gets their fair share of snuggles, we require pre-registration for all cuddle sessions.
Cost: $10.00 per 5-minute session.
The Fine Print: Please arrive during your scheduled "chapter" (start time). Just like a library book, if you're late, it cuts into your reading—or in this case, cuddling—time!
The "Social Pen" Access: Observe the lambs as they play, jump, and interact with the community.
Flock Education: Chat with our volunteers about the lambs and the mission of the Wilkins School Community Center.
Community Connection: Enjoy the courtyard atmosphere, meet your neighbors, and help us turn the page on a new WSCC tradition.
Spring into action and support two community landmarks with one beautiful purchase! We are thrilled to announce a joint fundraiser between the Wilkins School Community Center (WSCC) and the Sarah Jackson Black Community Center (SJBCC) in Swisshelm Park.
We’ve partnered with Todd’s Greenhouse to bring you premium flower baskets. Whether you’re brightening your porch or starting your summer garden, your purchase directly benefits the programs and preservation of these two historic community hubs.
Price: $19.00 per basket
Pick-Up: Select your preferred date and location at checkout.
Dragon Wing Begonias (Top Seller!) Our personal favorite! These hardy baskets are incredibly tolerant and forgiving, designed to thrive until fall with minimal effort.
Best for: Low-maintenance beauty and longevity.
"Non-Stop" Begonias Big, bold, continuous blooms in vibrant Red or stunning Pink. Last year’s pink variety was a showstopper and sold out early! Each basket is artfully mixed with complementary foliage to make the colors pop.
Best for: High-impact color in shaded or partial-sun areas.
Wave Petunia Mix. These aren't your average petunias. These lush, spreading baskets feature four primary colors mixed with designer accents like Dracaena Spikes, Verbena, Sweet Potato Vines, or Coleus.
Best for: Full sun and "spilling" over porch railings.
Classic Geranium Baskets: A timeless garden staple featuring bold clusters of flowers. To add a modern twist, we often mix in Black-Eyed Susan vines to provide a lovely trailing element.
Best for: Classic curb appeal and sunny spots.
Lush Foliage Baskets (Indoor/Outdoor) For those who love deep greens and interesting textures. Varieties include Spider Plants and Wandering Dude. Available in single species or contrast-heavy mixes.
Best for: Porches or bringing indoors as houseplants!
Note: With live plants, specific varieties foliage may vary slightly based on availability.
To make it convenient for all our neighbors, we are offering two different pick-up dates:
Saturday, May 2: Sarah Jackson Black Community Center (Swisshelm Park)
Saturday, May 9: Wilkins School Community Center (Regent Square)
The story of the Sarah Jackson Black Community Center is woven into the very identity of Swisshelm Park. In 1939, local residents "banded together" to transform a former cow shed into a true community hub.
By partnering for this plant sale, we are honoring the legacy of those who built these spaces with their own hands. Working together ensures that both the WSCC and the SJBCC continue to thrive as vibrant, historic anchors for all our neighbors.
We look forward to seeing our community "bloom" together this May!
