MOVING-FORWARD INFORMATIONAL MEETING  2/20/08
WSCC is at an exciting point in its history.  In order to be sure that the center continues to grow well into the future, it is time to consider a paid program director along with other moving-forward initiatives.  We are in good shape financially and have several permanent renters as well as maintaining a regular class schedule.  We need enlightened board members and willing interested parties to help plan this transition to the next level.
We invite you to attend an open, informational meeting.

Wednesday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m.

Please RSVP to 412-244-8458 if you plan to attend or are at all interested in serving the community at WSCC..

BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP
A book discussion group meets at WSCC on the first Thursday of every month.

January 3rd Discussion: “Ella Minnow Pea” by Mark Dunn.

February 7th Discussion: “The Devil Wears Prada” by Lauren Weisberger.

For more information call Bonnie Egli at (412) 351-4540.

Donation: $1.

PROJECT LINUS
Project Linus is an on-going, international sewing group to make blankets for ill and incapacitated children in hospitals.  There are about 50 agencies in the Pittsburgh area that get these blankets.  They are all used an appreciated very much and the thank you notes literally bring tears.

The Wilkins School Community Center officially became the Eastern Chapter of the Pittsburgh Branch.  There are 375 chapters worldwide and the organization has provided blankets since 1995.

There are a variety of ways to get involved in the organization:

·         Provide a monetary donation.

·         Provide a donation of new fabrics, yarns, or even gift certificates to fabric stores.

·         Provide a donation of time by becoming a “Blanketeer”, working from home or at one of the monthly Project Linus ‘gatherings’.

For more information and meeting times contact Judy Werner at (412) 241-8126.
