History of the Community Center

Wilkins School Community Center is located in the heart of Regent Square. WSCC, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was formed in October 1979, when neighborhood residents proposed to use the vacant school building for classes. From this first eight-week session in 1979, the Center grew into a meeting place for year-round classes, community events and civic organizations.

The Borough of Swissvale leases the building to WSCC. An all-volunteer Board of Directors maintains the building, offers programs and classes, and sponsors community activities.
